Partner Organisation and Event 3

Institute of ICT

Entrepreneurship Workshops
Date: 18 November 2009
Venue: MCAST IICT - Students' House
Details: Targeting two groups of students within the institute; BSc. students and students on their second year of the National Diploma in Software Programming or Networking, two events are being organized at MCAST IICT.
Workshop 1 - Entrepreneurs Malcolm Naudi and John Ambrogio will moderate a workshop on entrepreneurship for the BSc students.
Workshop 2 - Entrepreneurs Claudine Cassar and John Degiorgio will moderate a workshop on entrepreneurship for the National Diploma students.
The events have two main aims. Firstly the two events are to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship while exploring how the drive to become an entrepreneur arises.  Four affluent local entrepreneurs have been invited to directly contribute to the event. The event will kick off with a panel session entitled: "We define entrepreneurship as the ability of a person to identify opportunity in an uncertain environment and take the risk to create a product or process of value."  This session is then followed by an interactive Q & A slot.  New business ideas and potential gaps in the local IT market will be identified and designed during the workshop.  Secondly it is hoped that these workshops trigger off potential business ventures and new projects and to create the opportunity for students to see different options of future employment.
